Peninsula Health District looking for dog that bit person

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Peninsula Health District leaders are looking for a dog who bit a person Feb. 26 at Colony Road and Windermere in Newport News. 

The district said in a news release the dog is described as a gray female American Pit Bull Terrier. 

The release said if the agency doesn’t find the dog, the victim may need shots for the prevention of rabies. 

If you see an animal fitting the description, call Peninsula Health District’s Newport News Environmental Health office at 757-594-7340 during business hours.

After hours, call animal control’s office at 757-595-7387.
