JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A dog owner is facing charges after police say her dog attacked another dog in James City County.

James City County police said a resident was walking his beagle in the 1800 block of River Oaks Road when a rottweiler ran into the road, and attacked the beagle.

The resident picked his beagle up, but police said the rottweiler was able to jump up and bite the beagle’s abdomen. The incident was reported to Animal Control at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 29

Police said the beagle was taken to a veterinarian for surgery — and is now doing OK.

The owner of the rottweiler, Margo Griffin, is charged with dog at large and having a dangerous dog.
