Oscar Smith’s Kelly, who decommitted from Virginia Tech and Auburn, now at UNC

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) –  Local All-American football player Cam’Ron Kelly has decided to transfer to the University of North Carolina.

The Oscar Smith High School star came to the decision after tweeting out that he was leaving Auburn because of health issues within his family.

Kelly had committed to Auburn after de-committing from Virginia Tech last summer.

The cornerback’s position coach is Hampton Roads native Dre’ Bly, who just recently came onto the UNC staff under  head coach Mack Brown.

Kelly will be teaming up with a few of his Hampton Roads friends in Chapel Hill. Hampton’s Dazz Newsome, and as of now, Indian River’s LaMareon James, will head down there next year.

Some say the pipeline in Hampton Roads might now lead to UNC.
