One person displaced after house fire in South Norfolk

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — One person has been displaced from their home after it was damaged by a fire in the South Norfolk section of the Chesapeake on Thursday. 

Chesapeake Fire Department officials say they were dispatched to the 1300 block of Transylvania Avenue just before 2 p.m. in reference to the fire. 

When firefighters arrived, they found a one-story home with smoke inside. Firefighters say the fire was located in the kitchen. 

The fire was extinguished by 2:25 p.m. No one was injured and the displaced resident is making their own living arrangements, officials say.
