NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A loaded gun was detected Tuesday at Norfolk International Airport.

Officials with the Transportation Security Administration say this the third time in the month of June and the 11th time this year someone has been caught with a gun at the airport.

TSA officers have detected more guns at ORF in 2018 than all of last year.

Officials say if you’re traveling with a gun it needs to be unloaded, packed in a hard-side case and taken to the airline check-in counter to be declared.
