NC COVID-19 August 10 update: Daily positivity rate climbs to 14% with over 2,100 currently hospitalized

RALEIGH, N.C. (WAVY) — The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released its latest coronavirus statistics on Tuesday.

Daily COVID-19 cases in the state are up, with 2,985 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours. Current hospitalizations are up with 2,179 patients hospitalized in North Carolina due to the virus.

Overall, the state has reported 1,089,923 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. The state’s daily positivity rate is at 14%.

In the last week, NCDHHS says more than 20,000 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in North Carolina.

As far as COVID-19 related deaths, the state has recorded a total of 13,759 fatalities since the beginning of the pandemic.
