Norfolk State hoops coach Robert Jones talks with Bruce Rader about Spartans’ success

NORFOLK (WAVY) — Norfolk State’s men’s basketball team is in first-place in the MEAC and the Spartans have a couple of big games on tap at Joe Echols Hall.

On Saturday, NSU hosts North Carolina Central, which is tied for third place in the league. The Eagles are the defending conference tournament champions.

The Spartans should get an emotional boost on Saturday when Kyle O’Quinn’s jersey will be retited at halftime. O’Quinn, who plays for the Indiana Pacers, will be on hand for the celebration.

Things get even tougher on Monday when Norfolk State hosts second-place North Carolina Central.

Head coach Robert Jones joined Bruce Rader on the Sportswrap to talk about the Spartans recent run of success.
