Norfolk PD: Scotty Quixx nightclub shooting suspect charged

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man who police say shot into a crowd and wounded a man early Sunday morning at the Scott Quixx nightclub on Granby Street has been charged. 

23-year-old Trevon N. Matthews has been charged with malicious wounding in connection to the shooting. 

It happened around 1:26 a.m., and Matthews was reportedly spotted by police firing the gun, according to a press release from the Norfolk Police Department. 

An adult male victim was found nearby in the 400 block of Granby Street. He was taken to the hospital for treatment was expected to be OK. 

Norfolk detectives have yet to release any details surrounding the incident, but anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line.
