NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was injured Wednesday night in a shooting on Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk police say.
In a tweet, police said the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 500 block of E. Brambleton, near the intersection of St. Pauls Boulevard. The tweet said a 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital.
His injury was not considered life-threatening.
The circumstances of the shooting are unclear at this time.
This was one of five shootings in Hampton Roads across a period of less than five hours Wednesday night. The first shooting was reported around 7:20 p.m. in Hampton. One victim injured in that shooting is expected to recover.
Chesapeake police responded to two shootings reported about an hour apart. One person shot on Linster Street just before 11 p.m. was hospitalized with a life-threatening injury.
Another person was injured in a separate shooting on Faulk Street in Chesapeake.
In Newport News, a teenager was shot in the back of his knee around 10 p.m. Police said his injury was not life-threatening.
