Norfolk man killed in Albemarle County crash

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk man was killed early Thursday morning in crash on Interstate 64 in Albemarle County.

Virginia State Police say 36-year-old Ahmed M. Shelton was exiting the highway and going to a rest area, when he ran off the road and hit a disabled tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder. The crash happened around 7:20 a.m.

State police say Shelton died at the scene.

The tractor-trailer was fully out of the travel lane and had emergency triangles placed behind it, according to state police.
