No injuries reported following South Norfolk apartment fire in Chesapeake.

CHESAPEAKE, VA – Firefighters were dispatched Saturday at 4:14 p.m. to an apartment fire in the 2200 block of Farmer Lane, located in the South Norfolk section of the city.

Chesapeake Fire officials tell WAVY-TV 10, units arrived within ten minutes of the call and found smoke coming from a first floor unit of the two-story apartment building.

Firefighters deployed hose lines and made entry into the building where they found a small fire in a bedroom of the first floor apartment.  

The fire was brought under control and marked out by Battalion Chief 3 at 4:32 p.m. 

Two adults and two children were home at the time of the fire and escaped safely with no injuries.

They were all able to return to the home.  

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
