No injuries reported at house fire on Centerville Turnpike

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters were called to a working fire in the 500 block of Centerville Turnpike Thursday afternoon.

According to fire officials, they received the call at 2:57 p.m. and arrived five minutes later to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the vacant home.

There were no injuries reported.

Crews called the fire under control at 3:38 p.m. There is no word yet on the cause.

It was a busy afternoon for Chesapeake firefighters. At 3:31 p.m., crews were dispatched to a commercial fire at the Red Robin on Eden Way North. That fire was marked out an hour later.
