NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — No injuries were reported Tuesday morning in a crash between a Norfolk school bus and an SUV.
Norfolk police say officers as well as fire-rescue were dispatched to the scene on Armfield Avenue and W. Little Creek Road — near the Wards Corner area — around 7:40 a.m.
Police say three juveniles were on the bus — number 421 — and no injuries were reported.
A preliminary investigation found someone driving an SUV ran a red light as the bus was going through the intersection. The driver tried to swerve and avoid the bus, but swiped the bus’ mirror.
Police say the SUV driver was issued a summons for disregarding a red light.
