Newport News woman arrested for allegedly assaulting her brother with a fork

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A 26-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly attacking her 17-year-old brother with a kitchen fork, police say. 

The alleged incident happened on Dec. 21 around 11 p.m. in the 400 block of Bryan Court, according to Newport News Police. 

After police arrived to the scene, the victim and other family members present told officers the victim’s sister, Alliah Ritchey, attacked and assaulted him during an argument. 

The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to police. 

Ritchey was not at the home when police arrived that night. Police say they obtained an emergency protective order and warrants for Ritchey’s arrest. 

Ritchey was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with malicious wounding and assault on a family member, according to police.
