Newport News police seeking bank robbery suspect

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A suspect is on the loose after police say a Wells Fargo branch in Newport News was robbed Thursday morning.

Police said in a pair of tweets officers were called to the location in the 11000 block of Warwick Boulevard just before 10 a.m. The tweets said the suspect passed a note to a teller before fleeing the bank with cash.

Police said the suspect is described as a a 60-year-old man with a grey beard. He was reportedly wearing sunglasses with orange lenses, a Washington Redskins hat, a tan jacket and jeans.

No injuries were reported.
