NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — After two separate traffic stops, police found themselves citing drivers with more than a traffic violation.

Narcotics K9s alerted police of drugs in a vehicle stopped in the area of Colony Road and Warwick Blvd. They then searched the car to find enough marijuana to charge the driver with intent to distribute. Officers also reportedly found a concealed handgun under the driver’s seat.

Officers also stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Denbigh Boulevard and seized drugs and an AR style rifle. That driver was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
