Newport News man dies in Hampton shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A  Newport News man was killed Thursday night in a shooting that happened blocked the Hampton police station, police say.

In a tweet, Hampton police said officers were at the scene at 10:30 p.m. investigating the homicide. 

Officers were called to the 300 block of Lincoln Street for a shooting around 10 p.m. Police officials said in a tweet 30 minutes later that officers were investigating a shooting. 

Police said the man shot, 33-year-old Samuel Hill, died at the scene.

Police do not have a motive for the killing or any idea who did it. No other details are available at this time. Stay with WAVY.com for updates.
