Navy secures unexploded ordnance in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Navy EOD personnel were called to secure unexploded ordnance discovered in Suffolk Wednesday morning.

A crew working in the area found the shell and reported it around 10:15 a.m.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue and Suffolk Police officers responded to the scene in the 6900 block of Armstead Road and closed the road to traffic.

Before noon, Navy personnel were able to secure and remove the item.
