Navy holding career fair in Chesapeake on Oct. 14

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic, which is seeking to fill 600 jobs, is holding a career fair this month. 

The fair is being held at the Chesapeake Conference Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.    

Officials say hiring specialists will conduct interviews during the career fair — and offer tentative job offers on site to qualified candidates.

The organization is recruiting for federal positions in numerous disciplines including: Architects, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Fire Protection, and Environmental Engineers.

They are also looking to fill craftsman trade positions including Voltage Electricians; Electricians; Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanics; Carpenters; Maintenance Mechanics; Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanics; Riggers, Crane Operators; Plumbers and Pipefitters.

Applicants are being encouraged to email their resumes to NAVFAC_MLHRO@navy.mil ahead of the event — and bring extra copies to the event, along with any transcripts, professional licenses and certifications.
