Virginia mom creates frowny face dolls to help children share feelings

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – A Virginia woman is hand-sewing frowny-faced dolls in the hopes of making it easier for kids to talk about their feelings.

Rebecca Floyd made the first doll after a moment of sadness with her own son, who had no tools to express his feelings.

It didn’t take long for people to notice, so she started making them for her friends. When she created her own website, the customers came rolling in.

“I just hope it helps them open up their conversations with their parents if something is bothering them. Because they have real issues,” said Floyd.

Every doll is different. Floys takes requests for things like a specific eye color or hair color. Each doll ranges in price from $25 to $55, depending on the customization.
