Vehicle belonging to missing Norfolk woman found in Alabama

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. (WAVY) – The vehicle belonging to a missing Norfolk woman was found in Alabama early Sunday morning.

According to WKRG, 68-year-old Shari Saunders’ 2010 red Toyota Corolla was found along I-65 in Escambia County but there was no sign of Saunders. She has been missing since August 5 and was last seen on surveillance video around 1 a.m. that day at a gas station along I-65, while traveling from Norfolk to visit family in Monroeville.

Relatives filed missing person reports in Norfolk and Alabama. WAVY News 10 spoke to family members who said she would contact them regularly, but the last they heard from her was about 20 miles south of Columbia, South Carolina. She was supposed to call again when she got near Atlanta, but never did.
