CARROLL COUNTY, Ark. (KOLR) – About fifteen abused pit bulls were rescued last week from an abusive environment in Carroll County, Arkansas.
Now, one week later, some of the dogs are on their way to becoming service dogs for veterans.
When authorities found the dogs, they believed the pit bulls were used for fighting, and only had about 24 hours to live. Some had terrible scars.
Now three of the dogs were chosen by “dog’s nation”, a service dog organization in Missouri, to be trained and partnered with a new owner.
Jessica Kelly, owner of Kelley’s Animal Services says, “every single one of those dogs who were brought out of that home are obedience trained already. They sit. They stay. They shake. They want to give you a kiss. They are so happy they are in a different environment.”
Kelley also says all three dogs have already been paired with a veteran.
The dogs will be trained and given to their new owner for free.
