MIDDLESEX COUNTY, N.J. (WCMH) – A New Jersey man is accused of insurance fraud after video showed him faking a slip and fall injury.

According to Middlesex County, New Jersey Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey, Alexander Goldinsky, 57, was charged with one count of insurance fraud and one count of theft by deception.

“Fraudulent claims cost everyone and we will aggressively prosecute those who illegally manipulate the system,” said Carey.

Goldinsky is an independent contractor who operates under the company name All Gold Industries. When the incident occurred Goldinsky was subcontracted to perform work at a company in Woodbridge, according to Carey.

Carey said Goldinsky filed a false insurance claim for an ambulance service and treatment he received at a hospital for injuries he claimed he suffered at a business in Woodbridge Township.

The investigation revealed that Goldinsky purposely threw the ice on the floor in the cafeteria at his workplace, placed himself on the ground, and waited until he was discovered, according to Carey.

Goldinsky was given a summons and will appear in court on Feb. 7.
