BETHESDA, Md. (WAVY) — An all clear has been given after the report of an active shooter at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Tuesday afternoon.
In a Facebook post, Naval Support Activity Bethesda said security received a call around 2 p.m. about an active shooter in Bldg. 19, in the basement. Base security responded and ruled that there was no active shooter.
The U.S Navy confirmed it was a drill, but a short time later, NSA Bethesda said it determined this was actually a false alarm and “not part of a scheduled drill as has been reported.”
