GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. (NBC) — Theodore Duncan, a mechanic from Granville County won the top prize in North Carolina’s $10 million colossal cash scratch-off game.
Duncan, who says he buys three or four scratch-off tickets each week, was on the way to the landfill to dump trash when he bought the winning ticket.
He says he plans to use some of the money to buy a new house and spoil his kids and grandkids. Duncan also plans to donate $100,000 of his money to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“I’ve been working since I was about 15 years old. I just retired,” Duncan said.
