The Federal Government wants you to join a massive health research project titled All of Us.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) says the goal of the research initiative is to enroll at least one million people nationwide, thus building the world’s largest and most diverse database for health resources.
The ultimate goal is to advance precision medicine, which is an approach to disease treatment and prevention that considers differences in people’s lifestyles, environments and biological makeup
Experts say it is important that the database is diverse, because often, clinical trials only involve white men.
People ages 18 and older, both healthy and sick, will be able to enroll.
The official launch date of the project is Sunday, May 6, but you can join now at this link.
You can also take part in social media activities using #JoinAllofUs or tune in at https://Launch.JoinAllofUs.org to watch speakers across the country talk about precision medicine and the power of volunteering for research.
