SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Well this isn’t awkward at all.

To what lengths would you go for a very, very cheap burger?

Well, Burger King wants to give you 1 cent Whoppers with a little catch — you’ve got to go to McDonald’s to cash in on the deal!

It’s all to promote the revamped Burger King app.

Here’s how it works.

You must be within 600 feet of a McDonald’s location to snag the 1 cent Whopper deal, which starts today through Dec. 12.

BK officials say the app will use your GPS to unlock the Whopper penny promo.

Once you place your order, you’ll then be “detoured” away from McDonald’s and navigated to the nearest Burger King restaurant where you can pick up your burger.

Burger King alluded to the deal via Twitter on Tuesday morning, tweeting “brb going to McDonalds.”
