PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Four varieties of Pepperidge Farm’s Goldfish crackers are being recalled due to Salmonella concerns.
The issue involves the whey powder seasoning that coats the four varieties, which include:
- Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar
- Flavor Blasted Sour Cream & Onion
- Goldfish Baked with Whole Grain Xtra Cheddar
- Goldfish Mix Xtra Cheddar + Pretzel
In a press release issued Monday night, Pepperidge Farm says it was notified by its supplier of whey powder that Salmonella could be present in the powder.
No illnesses have been reported so far, according to Pepperidge Farm, but after an investigation, the company says it decided to voluntarily recall 3.3 million units “out of an abundance of caution.” None of the company’s other cracker varieties have been recalled.
