NASA launched rocket from Wallops Island Tuesday morning


WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (WAVY)- NASA launched a rocket from Wallops Island about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday. College students from around the country worked to make the launch possible. It flew about 15 minutes to an altitude of 91 miles.  A parachute will bring it down 64 miles offshore. When NASA retrieves the rocket, students will have access to any stored data.
