VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A motorcyclist who was injured in a crash Wednesday night in Virginia Beach has died, police say.

The motorcyclist was identified by police Friday, as 27-year-old Sherrod Londel Green of Virginia Beach.

Police said the crash happened just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Indian River and Kempsville roads.

An officer tried to pull over the motorcyclist after witnessing him run a red light, police said.

The motorcyclist disregarded the officer’s emergency lights and ran another red light, hitting a sedan that was turning left onto Indian River.

Police said the driver of the sedan was uninjured in the crash.
