Motorcyclist dies after crash at Virginia Beach intersection

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A motorcyclist died at the scene after crashing at a Virginia Beach intersection on Tuesday afternoon. 

The crash happened at the intersection of Princess Anne and Fitztown roads around 2 p.m. and involved a TFC Recycling truck. 

Several people who messaged 10 On Your Side said witnesses tried to save the man by performing by CPR, but were unsuccessful. 

The motorcyclist was later identified as 75-year-old Peter Joseph Schuffles, of North Carolina.

Police said investigators determined a 2012 Autocar Recycling Truck crossed into the path of the motorcycle, causing a collision.

Investigators have not filed any charges in the crash.
