Michael Vick’s father sentenced to 5 years for part in heroin distribution ring

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The father of former NFL and Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick will head to prison for his role in a major heroin distribution ring in Hampton Roads. 

Michael Dwayne Boddie was sentenced to 60 months in prison on Tuesday. 

Boddie was charged in 2017 with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute heroin, conspiracy to launder money and use of a communication facility.

11 others also named in the indictment faced charges including possession of a firearm during drug trafficking, money laundering, maintaining a drug-involved premises and use of a communication facility.
