HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man who had a BB gun on Phoebus High School’s property prompted a brief lockdown of the school Thursday morning, officials say.
Kellie Goral with Hampton City Schools said there was a report of a man with a weapon near the school’s softball field just after 9 a.m. The school was on lockdown for less than five minutes, she said.
The man, who was carrying a BB gun, was taken off school property by Hampton police, according to Goral. It’s unclear whether the man will face charges.
Goral said parents and gaurdians of students were informed of the incident.
