Man walks into Norfolk hospital with gunshot wound; police investigating at apartment complex

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man is in the hospital with non life-threatening injuries after a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Norfolk. 

Police believe the shooting is connected to a gunshot disturbance reported at Sunrise Apartments in the 300 block of Fort Worth Avenue, near the convergence of E. Little Creek Road and I-64. 

The call for the gunshot disturbance came in at 2:30 p.m. When police arrived at Forth Worth Avenue, they didn’t find anyone injured, but learned a man had arrived at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center down Granby St. with a gunshot wound. Police said he was being taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for further treatment. 

Authorities are on scene in the Fort Worth area investigating. They ask anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
