NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News police are investigating after a Hampton man was found suffering from a gunshot wound about 10:00 p.m. Wednesday on Terminal Avenue.
Police say they originally were sent to the 2000 block of Jefferson Avenue for shots fired and got word from a citizen that the victim was on the ground in the 2100 block of Terminal Avenue.
The 18-year-old male victim was found suffering from a single gunshot to the back of his right knee, police say. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of the non life-threatening wound.
