Man shipped enough fentanyl to kill hundreds of thousands in Va., prosecutors say

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man who authorities say was living in the U.S. illegally was sentenced to 11 years in prison for trafficking enough fentanyl to kill hundreds of thousands of people. 

Fiorman Erick Gillett, 48, of Belize, was caught working with others to ship almost two pounds of pure fentanyl and three pounds of pure methamphetamine from Texas to Virginia. He was sentenced on Monday in Norfolk District Court. 

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Gillett will be deported pending the completion of his prison sentence as part of his plea agreement.
