Man seriously hurt after being shot multiple times in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake police are investigating a weekend shooting that left one man fighting for his life. 

Police said there was a call was received around 1:45 p.m. Saturday regarding a shooting in the area of 3300 Pampus Lane. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

Neighbors who spoke to 10 On Your Side saw shell casings right outside their home, but saw something more terrifying around the corner.

“We saw an ambulance and a fire truck go around the corner to the other apartments across the street. When we walked over there to kind of to see if it was anything related. That’s when we saw the victim was lying on the ground shot,” said a witness who lives in the area.

Another resident said, “I heard the three shots ring, then after that about a two second pause, heard two more shots fired, and actually that’s when all the chaos started.”

The man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released information on a possible suspect.
