Man receives sentence in fatal Norfolk shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man who pleaded guilty to a charge in a 2018 Norfolk shooting that left a teenager dead has been sentenced.

Court records show Joseph Burke was sentenced to six years with five years and six months suspended on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Norfolk police said 19-year-old Keshawn Alexander, a senior at Lake Taylor High School, was shot to death Campostella section of the city on Feb. 6, 2018.

Burke will face 10 years of unsupervised probation after his release from prison.
