VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a man dead.
Officials say it happened on the 300 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard around 2:25 a.m. on August 5. Police say the victim had a gunshot wound to his torso.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police later identified the man as 24-year-old Deangelo Errol Thomas, of Newport News.
Police believe several people were fighting when Thomas was shot. They have not released any suspect information.
