NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A New Jersey man who helped smuggle drugs into Hampton Roads will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Kenneth Stuart got the maximum life sentencing during a hearing this week. Stuart, aka “Bones”, was the supplier for a heroin and fentanyl ring led by Erskine Dawson, Jr., of Chesapeake.

In many cases, the drugs were brought into the region hidden in stuffed animals. Authorities said the drugs were in baggies labeled “King of Death,” “Last Call,” “Mad Max,” and “Chef Curry.”

At least two people in Virginia died from the drugs supplied by Stuart. Dawson pleaded guilty in July 2017 to selling the drugs.
