JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Police in James City County arrested a man over the weekend on charges including child neglect.

James City County police say officers responded to the 5500 block of Centerville Road in October 2018 —  where they found 35-year-old Christopher Trueblood unresponsive in a vehicle at a playground with two children he was caring for.

The children were playing at the playground at the time, police say.

Police initially charged Trueblood with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, driving after forfeiture of license and contributing to the deliquency of a minor.

Two felony warrants for child neglect were taken out against Trueblood on Jan. 30 after police consulted with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

Police say Trueblood was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 10.
