NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A man who was accused of raping and robbing a woman in Newport News in 2017 has been acquitted.

Court records show Ezekiel Brown was found not guilty following a two-day jury trial this week.

Brown was arrested in January 2018 for an alleged October 2017 incident.

Police said a woman called 911 reporting that a man with a gun ordered her to go inside of her home in the Oyster Point area of the city. The man then allegedly raped and robbed her.
