FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — Franklin Police are working to find out what led to a double stabbing Friday evening.
Police Captain Timothy Whitt said officers responded to the 200 block of Cobb Street for a report of a stabbing around 4:30 p.m. Friday. On scene, officers found an adult female suffering from multiple stab wounds including cuts to her arms, hands, chest, and abdomen.
The woman received emergency treatment at the scene before being taking to the emergency room.
An investigation revealed that a 61-year-old male, who was already at the hospital, had also stabbed in the buttocks at Cobb Street location.
Michael Reid Beasley, 28, was taken into custody at the scene of the stabbings.
He is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond and has been charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding, one count of malicious wounding, obstruction of justice, and giving false information to police.
Both victims have been treated and released from the hospital.
Police say the suspect and victims are known to each other, however, no motive has been established fo the attacks.
