SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man convicted of reckless driving in connection with a deadly accident in Suffolk will spend three months in jail.

Jemar Hall, 24 of Texas, was originally charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. A jury found him not guilty on those charges back in October.

Police say Hall was driving a tractor-trailer that collided with a car on Route 58 near Wilroy Road in December of 2016.

The people in the car — 77-year-old Jean Mitchell and 81-year-old Robert Mitchell — were taken to the hospital following the crash, but later died from their injuries.

A judge sentenced Hall to a year in prison with nine months suspended.
