Man charged with firing gun inside Norfolk home


NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 24-year-old Norfolk man has been charged for a shooting inside a home that sent one person to the hospital.

Norfolk police say they were called to the 3400 block of Mangrove Avenue around 9:50 p.m. Thursday for a “gunshot disturbance.”

Police say investigators determined a 24-year-old man was inside a home with someone else and handling a gun when it was fired.

A man was taken to the hospital an injury considered not life-threatening, and is expected to recover.

Rakeem Manley has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm.
