Man charged after police pursuit in Henrico ends in New Kent


HENRICO, Co., Va. (WWBT) — A man wanted for abduction and domestic assault was arrested after assaulting an officer and leading police on a chase Sunday afternoon.

Henrico police went to the 700 block of Chinkapin Court attempting to locate Bradley Gene Oxley. Oxley assaulted a police officer and fled in a vehicle. The officer was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.

Police located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled onto I-64 in Henrico County and crossed into New Kent County, prompting assistance from the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police.

The vehicle was stopped be police and Oxley was arrested.

A passenger was found in the vehicle whom police requested to be let out of the vehicle, but Oxley refused.

Police searched the vehicle and found a concealed handgun.

Oxley was served on the outstanding warrants for abduction, domestic assault and grand larceny and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, felony eluding and abduction.
