WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Williamsburg are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Monday night.
According to police, a witness and the man shot told officers the shooting happened during an argument on Second Street — just off Merrimac Trail. They identified 38-year-old George Jimmison as the shooter.
Jimmison reportedly fled the area after firing one round.
Officers were called to the scene around 11:45 p.m. The man shot was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
Police say Jimmison was arrested Tuesday morning, and charged with aggravated assault, brandishing a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Jimmison is being held at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
