Man arrested in ‘firearms violation’ in Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man has been arrested after Virginia Beach Police responded to Woodburne Drive for what officials said was a “firearms violation” last week.

The Virginia Beach Police Department said in a tweet officers responded to the 3300 block of Woodburne. No injuries have been reported. A second tweet sent a short time later said the situation has been resolved. 

Police later said 56-year-old Bernard Eugene Fairchild was charged with destruction of property, discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling, two counts brandishing a firearm and two counts disturbing the peace.
