ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Police arrested a 33-year-old man in connection to a string of business break-ins that happened in January.
Just before midnight on Jan. 15, the Elizabeth City Police Department says they received an alarm call at the Salvation Army Thrift Store located at 600 North Road Street.
Police say they connected the thrift store break-in to a previous break-in at Sheep Harney Elementary School on West Elizabeth Street and an attempted break-in at Tarheel Internal Medicine at 1134 North Road Street thanks to security footage they obtained.
Officers arrested James Philip Wanzer of Elizabeth City and charged him with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of damage to personal property and three counts of injury to real property.
Wanzer is being held at the Albebarle District Jail, according to police.
