Man arrested for firing shots at vehicle and York Co. home

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – The search is over for a Newport News man wanted on a string of charges, including attempted murder.

The crime happened back on August 28 in the Tabb section of York County. Deputies were called to the 100 block of Little Bay Avenue around 8:30 p.m. for the report of a breaking and entering and shots being fired into a home.

The investigation revealed that the suspects hopped into a black car before deputies arrived and fired additional shots at the victim’s vehicle as they fled.

On Monday, Sept. 17 the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office announced they had arrested 21-year-old Esteban Benjamin Fortin in connection with this case. He was wanted for attempted murder, breaking and entering, discharging a firearm, use of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
